Photographers
The
Peak District is an area of outstanding natural beauty and great
activities to take part in, so it is no wonder that photography is
one of the main things people visit the area to do. Wherever you
glance you are surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the
world and can practise your art of photography by taking shots of the
stunning vistas, dramatic moorland, intriguing geology and the
tremendous variety of flora and fauna. Peak District photography is a
rewarding hobby, you are almost assured of capturing perfect images
that you will treasure and add to your collection every time you take
a trip outside. The area is one of such varied topography that
someone who is interested in photography can spend weeks in the Peak
District and never get bored of snapping shots at every opportunity.
The
Peak District has a rich history with regards to photography; as one
of the UK's first countryside retreats for those who lived and worked
the city many wanted a souvenir or keep-safe to remember their trip
by (in the late Victorian period holidays were prohibitively
expensive so a fortnights stay in somewhere like the Peaks was the
trip of a lifetime) so photographers began to ply their trade in the
various villages and vistas of the Peak District. Photography was
relatively common in this era so a large number of photographic labs
were established to produce the photographs in short order so
families could collect them before their stay in the Peak District
ended. Since then photography has continued to be very popular in the Peak District.
